Monday was Kyle's birthday, and to the delight of everyone, he decided on The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Its a bit of a haul down to Southlake as it is, but add tons of traffic and the stage is set for some fun and craziness in the car. During a heated debate about books vs. movie versions of books, the conversation sounded something like this:
Eden: I just don't like the Twilight stories that much. Reading takes so long.
Abby: Eden, the whole first chapter of Twilight doesn't even happen in the movie except for one tiny bit.
Eden: You know what books I've read all of? Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I'm on like my third time reading them.
Mom: Eden, you need to start reading books that are a little higher than a second grade level.
Eden: I just don't like the Twilight books. Why would you read when you can just watch the movie?
Mom: There are tons of books that are nothing like Twilight that you would love.
Eden: You know what book I'm reading right now that doesn't have any pictures?
As soon as she realized what she'd said, she couldn't stop laughing. Neither could the rest of us. It turns out the book was Prom. It's a start, right?
